Materials

To make these star flowers, you will need

  • Size 11 seed beads in blue and green
  • 4mm or 6mm pearls for centres
  • 0.5mm (24ga) wire in blue
  • 0.5mm (24ga) wire in green
  • Floral stem tape
  • Stem stiffening wire
  • Embroidery silk

These supplies are all available in my beading supplies department. Or, I have put together a complete kit, which you can find here>>

In terms of tools, you just need wire cutters. You might find a bead spinner helpful, but if you are just trying French beading to find out whether or not you enjoy it, then don’t worry about the bead spinner for now.

Experience and Techniques

The product title,  beginner French beading pattern, kind of gives this away! You don’t need any previous experience for this project.

I am going to teach you two simple techniques. The second of these builds onto the first, so you will learn to develop your skills as you work. I am also going to be focusing on something that is key to all French beading. So, you will learn the importance of shaping your flowers.
