Defining Pearls and Crystals

All the patterns in this section use either pearls, or crystals, or both. They may also include other seed beads as well.

You will find projects for pearls in different sizes. I have used the term ‘crystals’ to include Swarovski crystals in all shapes and sizes. So, that would include bicones, rivolis, crystals in settings etc. Plus, any other brand of crystals. I have also included firepolish beads in this category.

Why have I lumped all these bead types together? Well, often you can interchange pearls and crystals. So, you get to decide whether you go for ‘bling’ or ‘elegance’. The only thing you need to be aware of, is making sure that you use the same size when you make the swap!
