To make these star flowers, you will need
- Size 11 seed beads in blue and green
- 4mm or 6mm pearls for centres
- 0.5mm (24ga) wire in blue
- 0.5mm (24ga) wire in green
- Floral stem tape
- Stem stiffening wire
- Embroidery silk

In terms of tools, you just need wire cutters. You might find a bead spinner helpful, but if you are just trying French beading to find out whether or not you enjoy it, then don’t worry about the bead spinner for now.
