Description
This RounDuo mini beads pattern shows you how to make beaded beads which I turned into earrings. You could also make these into a necklace or bracelet. So, what will you need?
Materials
The RounDuo mini beads pattern uses the following materials:
- RounDuo mini beads (one pack should be fine for the earrings)
- Size 11 Miyuki seed beads in two colours
- Two 5mm split rings
- Your choice of earwires
- Your choice of beading thread

I chose to use Fireline thread, but you can use whichever brand you like best. You will see I have a few choices on offer if you need any!
Experience and Techniques
This is an advanced beading pattern based around Cubic Right Angle Weave. I have used the two holes in the RounDuo Minis to create a beaded bead with a layered effect.
Once you have got the basic CRAW cube in place, adding the embellishment should feel quite natural. So, I recommend that you are at least slightly familiar with CRAW before you try this project.
If you need an easier project to try these new beads, then I have a beautiful necklace that combines them with EVA beads. In that, you will learn a basic Peyote variation, so that may be a better option for beginners.
About the RounDuo Mini Beads Pattern
This pattern gives you detailed step-by-step instructions for making the earrings. I have illustrated each step with a clear diagram to show you the thread path and bead arrangement. So, even if you have never done CRAW before, I will be taking you through the steps in detail. I have also included photos to show more detail on the earrings.
In case you are wondering, the RounDuo Mini Beads are a new (in September 2018) bead from Potomac Bead Company. They measure 4mm, but are an exact scaled-down version of the already popular RounDuo beads. They look like little round pearls but with two holes through them. So, this gives you a lot of variations to play with and interesting thread paths to discover. I certainly fell in love with them immediately!
