These simple heart earrings are quick to make and perfect for beginners. So, read on to find out more…

Materials

Your simple heart earrings use the following materials:

  • Size 11 delicas (or seed beads if you prefer)
  • Heart shaped glass beads
  • 4mm firepolish beads
  • Head pins
  • Ear wires
  • Beading thread

You probably have most of these in your stash already. So, this is a fun project to use up some of your leftover beads.

You will also need beading needle and scissors, plus some wire cutters and round nose pliers to assemble the earrings.

Experience and Techniques

I have assumed that you already know how to work in basic odd count Peyote. If you don’t, then please reference this free blog, teaching you odd count Peyote, as you are making your earrings.

When you come to assemble the earrings, you are going to need to make a simple wrapped loop with wire. Again, this is a beginner-level skill. But if it is something you’ve never done before, then please download this free tutorial to help you.

About the simple heart earrings

These are fun to make whatever your level of experience. So, even if you are a more advanced beader, this is a great project to try. If you sell work at  craft fair, then this design is perfect. It won’t take too long to make, and doesn’t require many materials. So, you can charge a decent price, and make some profit on this!

I actually designed this project to help people learn odd count Peyote. This technique has the more awkward turn around at one side. So, this simple little design will let you get in plenty of practise without having to spend hours on the project.

You might also like to adapt the design. You can change the pattern on the Peyote section. Or, you could change the hearts and fire polish beads for something else. I made my earrings reversible – different colours on each side.
