Description
This tutorial shows you how to make an even count Peyote bookmark or bracelet. You simply get to decide whether to add the clasp and wear it, or enjoy it to mark the pages of your book!
Materials
You will need size 11 delicas in eleven different colours for this design. The tutorial includes the colour codes and exact quantities.
You will also need your favourite beading thread. Then, if you are making the bracelet, you will need a clasp. I have used a 7-loop slide clasp, but you can use any clasp of your choice.
Experience and Techniques
This even count Peyote bookmark or bracelet tutorial gives you a pattern chart and a full word chart. So, it is easy to follow at any level.
I have included instructions for adding the clasp that I used. But you are welcome to use your own method for adding your clasp.
I have also included an explanation of how to alter the length of this design to fit your wrist. So, you can make it to suit literally any wrist size. But I will explain more about that in a moment.
If you feel like you need any extra help with any of the techniques, then I run an online class that will teach you everything you need to know. You can find the class at this link: https://my-world-of-beads.teachable.com/p/how-to-do-peyote-stitch-for-beginners
About the even count Peyote bookmark or bracelet pattern
Now, it can be tricky to create a bracelet design because of the sizing. Wrists vary dramatically in size, from tiny 6″ right up to 9″. And possibly even some variation on either side of that.
But in the snow-capped mountain design, I have created something that you can make to fit ANY wrist size.
Your tutorial actually gives you TWO complete pattern and word charts. The smaller can be used to make a bookmark or bracelet and is about 6″ long. The larger design will make an 8″ bracelet. Both sizes are about 1.5″ in width.
Now, for both charts, I have also shown you how to alter the length. So, say you wanted a 7″ bracelet, you can either add 1″ to the shorter design or remove 1″ from the longer design. The tutorial explains how to do these things.
So, this project will literally cater to all needs. And, if you like this flexible even count Peyote project, you’ll want to check out this bracelet design as well.
