This beaded Christmas ornament is a stylish design that will look great in any colouring.
For your beaded Christmas ornament you will need the following:
- Size 11 Delicas
- True2 beads
- 4mm pearls
- 60mm bauble
- Your choice of beading thread
You can find all these materials right here in my beading supplies department>>
If you don’t have a 60mm bauble, you can adapt this pattern very easily to fit any size. I have included instructions on how to do this.
Experience and Techniques
This is an intermediate project. You are going to be working in some very basic Right Angle Weave and then in Peyote stitch. But the look of this geometric style beaded Christmas ornament is created by shaping your Peyote. So, it will help if you already have some experience with the basic technique.
If you want to find out more about either of these techniques, then check out this blog>>
About this beaded Christmas ornament
Every year, I try to make something new for my own Christmas tree. So, this beaded Christmas ornament is my design for 2018. (Not my only Christmas project for that year – you can find loads more new designs in the Christmas beading department!)
So, I wanted to try and make something simple, elegant and interesting. There are so many techniques available for covering baubles, so it is quite a challenge to come up with a new idea. I’m not sure where I found the inspiration for this, but the idea is a little reminiscent of a crown.
I really wanted to carry on experimenting with the dimensional Peyote that has shaped a lot of my projects this year. So, this became a challenge in creating something dimensional to sit around a bauble.
I picked my own gold and red themed colours. But this project would look stunning in any colouring.
