About the Superduo Duets Bracelet
I had the pleasure of playing with the Superduo Duet beads before they came to market. So this Superduo Duets Bracelet was one of my earliest designs. If you have not come across the Duets before, then they are basically just the same size and shape as a conventional Superduo, but have a clever two-colour coating. This allows for incorporating patterns into the beadwork. It’s very clever and a lot of fun to try. You can read a bit more about the Superduo Duets here.
About the pattern
This Superduo Duets Bracelet is based on a very simple idea: to use the colouring to run a long stripe through the bracelet. I made the components to suit the stripe. Then, added a beaded clasp using seed beads in a similar shade to the stripe through. You can see a detail of the beaded clasp in the photos. If you wish, you can just use a shop-bought clasp, but this design detail, matching colouring adds the perfect finish to the bracelet.
You are going to be working in Tubular and Circular Peyote stitch. The pattern instructions are detailed, but they do also assume that you are familiar with the basics of these techniques. If you feel you need a technique reminder, then you can download a free tutorial covering circular and tubular peyote here.
The components for the Superduo Duets bracelet are really quick to make. You can add as many or as few as you need to suit your wrist size. So, if you want a little experiment with the Duets, I suggest this project is a good place to start. If you find you enjoy them (and who wouldn’t with all their colour potential?!), then you can find some more patterns designed specifically for Superduo Duets on this website. You might also like to try them with some of my ordinary Superduo patterns (just use the search bar to the right and search ‘Superduos’) as the colour effects are really rather wonderful!
