Description
O My! Bracelet
This pattern was my first experiment with O beads. The O My! pattern may look complicated, but it actually uses quite a simple thread path. You will create individual sections with Twin holes, pearls and O beads. I chose to fasten the bracelet with a slide clasp – I find these very secure, quite easy to fasten one-handed and I think they add something subtle to a cuff style design.
Tips
You will make the bracelet one section at a time. So you can alter its length as you go, to fit any wrist size. It is a great introduction to O beads and a fairly simple way to work with Twin Hole beads as well. You will certainly make a statement as you wear this design. Then you can change around the colouring to match different outfits.
I recommend using Fireline thread for this. You will need to create a nice strong, even tension as you work in order for the beads to sit evenly and I find this is easier to achieve with Fireline thread. The pattern is suitable for all levels and is clearly illustrated with step-by-step diagrams and photos to show details where necessary. You do not necessarily need any knowledge of techniques for the O My! design, but you may find it helpful to be used to working with beads. Having said that, there is really no reason why a determined beginner should not make this pattern successfully.
If you enjoy this pattern, then you can find more designs using O beads amongst my patterns. If you refer to the O beads blog, you will find quick links to a range of designs, so I hope you enjoy them.
