About the Dome Beads Bracelet
I designed this bracelet to pair with my Quadratile Circles necklace. The focal point of the bracelet is also based upon the simple Quadra tile pendant I made back in 2015. I created the Dome beads bracelet to go with these designs in order to teach a workshop with some project options for the students. It meant that all three projects would be using similar materials and techniques. But they gave the students the opportunity to focus on something at their particular level.
Tips
I have talked a lot in the past about how much I love the way Quadra tiles can be used to create layers of beadwork. In this case, I found they worked brilliantly for creating a really quick and simple casing around dome beads.
The finish and colours available in the dome beads is just gorgeous so you can create designs that are colourful, subdued, monochromatic or bright and bubbly. In this design I used a strongly contrasting black and red scheme. But it also works beautifully in a monochromatic theme, like the one I used in the original necklace.
You won’t need too many quadra tiles or Superduos. So if you already have some of these beads in your stash, this could be a good way to use them. The focal actually uses two dome beads, so the bracelet is reversible if you wish. The strap is a simple Peyote stitch, to which I added some embellishment.
I have included a beaded clasp. But if you are just starting out, or if you need a quick make, you could easily use a shop-bought clasp. The techniques for making the focal section and really simple. Basically nothing more than stringing beads around your dome beads in the centre.
If you wish, you can just use the focal on its own as a pendant, a brooch or an embellishment for another project. So the dome beads bracelet pattern provides plenty of flexibility and makes a real statement on your wrist.
