The Rizo flower pattern includes three pages of instructions with photos and diagrams. It makes flowers using seed beads and either Rizos or Daggers. You can string your flowers onto necklaces or bracelets or use them for decoration.

This project is suitable for intermediate or advanced beaders. The pattern uses Peyote stitch and is very quick to make. Take full advantage of all the colours of Rizo and Dagger beads and make a really colourful stash of flowers.

What experience do you need?

The Rizo flower pattern works in tubular and circular Peyote. The pattern instructions assume you have some basic knowledge of Peyote stitch. However, if you are reading this as a beginner, or less experienced beader, don’t run away! I have also put together a free tutorial to take you through the basics of the technique. You can find it here. So, give that a try, then use those skills to come back and follow the Rizo flower pattern.

Materials for the Rizo Flower Pattern

If you know your beads, or even if you are just eagle-eyed, you may have spotted two types of petals on these flowers. I actually made my first flower using Rizo beads. These are shaped perfectly to make little petals. I then discovered I had some dagger beads in my stash. So, I made another flower using those. Having enjoyed making these flowers, I looked around for more beads.

I soon discovered that I had quite a few Rizos and had some different colours. So, I turned my beaded beads into a bracelet. I used the dagger bead flower, with its longer petals, in the centre. Then I arranged the Rizo bead flowers on either side.

For all the flowers, you will also need 10mm round beads – I used yellow wooden beads. Plus, you will need size 11 seed beads. So, you can check my beading supplies on here. You can also check your local bead shop. If you cannot find the Rizo beads, then try daggers. Or you can also try any of the other small oval beads that are on the market.

Lastly, if you have any questions about materials, just email me and I’ll help out.
