Description
This holly Peyote beaded star is a small size, quick to make and perfect as a festive decoration. So, let me tell you more about it…
Materials
You will need size 11 cylinder beads to make this. So, that is either Miyuki Delicas, or TOHO Treasure or AIKO beads.
I used Delicas and have included the quantities and colour codes for the beads that I used. You are free to choose your own colouring if you wish.
You will also need your favourite beading thread. My personal recommendation is Fireline, but you are welcome to make your own choice.
Experience and Techniques
You are going to be working in Peyote stitch. This project is suitable for intermediate beaders. But I have included a link to an online class which teaches you the basics of making Peyote stars. So, if you are a beginner and want to learn this, you can certainly use this project.
You can view the online class at this link.
About the holly Peyote beaded star
This little beaded star is about 5cm (2″) in diameter. So, it’s pretty quick to make.
The design is inspired by little holly leaves and is a lovely regular pattern to follow. I have given you a pattern chart and a word chart for this project.
Your PDF also includes basic instructions for making warped squares and assembling them into a beaded star. So, you should have everything you need here.
These are great for creating a statement on your festive tree. This is just one of several designs for Peyote stars in this small size. So, if you enjoy this, you might also want to check out the other designs at this link. You should keep an eye on that section as I will be adding more designs – both festive and ornamental – all the time. So, make sure to check back regularly!
