Description
My black white red carrier beads necklace uses simple beading and jewellery making techniques. But I will also show you how to personalise this and make it your own.
Materials
This beading project requires the following materials:
- Size 11/0 delica beads
- Carrier beads
- Round beads in 4mm and 6mm to use as spacers
- Two-to-one connector bar
- Crimp beads and crimp covers
- A clasp
- Beading thread
Now, some of these materials are optional, as they are used to create the design you see. However, in the pattern, I have given you some alternative suggestions. So, if you’re seeing items that you don’t have in your stash, don’t understand, or don’t want to buy, then don’t worry! I will have given you a suggestion for altering this to fit whatever you have, or enjoy working with.
Experience and techniques
You are going to be using the following techniques if you make the black white red carrier beads necklace identical to my version:
- Even count Peyote stitch
- Basic stringing
- Spiral staircase stitch
The pattern gives you a chart and word chart for the carrier bead covers. I have also given you details of the colouring I used (although I do invite you to make your own). Then, I have included links to free demonstrations and tutorials if you need to learn any of the techniques.
So, there is nothing difficult to bead, but you are invited to use your own creativity in places.
About the black white red carrier beads necklace
This design was actually inspired by an image, which you will see in your tutorial. Carrier bead covers are quick and easy to make. So, they provide huge scope for creating fabulous colour combinations and interesting designs.
In fact, this design resulted from a class that I run on creating bead colour schemes. So, you may also be interested in taking that class to give you some additional inspiration. You can find all the details at this link.
