Description
Basic daisy chain stitch is a staple beading technique. You can use it to make beautiful jewellery on its own. Or, combine it with other techniques.
Materials
Daisy chain stitch is made with seed beads. You can use any size. So, in the photo, I have used size 8. This is a great option when you are starting out. It is easy to see these beads and they make a pretty chain.
When you get a little braver, you can try this with smaller seed beads too.
For even more variety, give it a go with pearls or other slightly larger beads.
If you are turning your daisy chains into jewellery, then you might find this free tutorial about adding clasps is helpful.
Experience
The basic daisy chain stitch is one for all levels. This is a great technique for absolute beginners. But, if you are more experienced and have never tried this, give it a go.
I love to use it for beaded ropes… You can never have enough different options for techniques there!

More ideas for basic daisy chain
As you may have realised, the basic daisy chain pattern shows you how to make a beaded chain. However, the technique for making the daisies can also be used to create single flowers.
So, this is a fun idea for an embellishment. Once you get to know the technique, start thinking about how you might use it in other projects.
As I mentioned above, you can also try all sorts of different bead sizes and types. So, I encourage you to have a little ‘play’. See what works. If you try a few different samples, make sure you either keep the samples or make comprehensive notes for yourself. Then, you can come back to use these ideas next time you are looking for a different take on a chain or rope.
