About the Superduo Bracelet Tutorial
This Superduo bracelet tutorial makes a design that I called the ‘Ruffle Bracelet’. The Superduos create the base for the design. Then, by using a combination of True2 beads and size 8 seed beads, you will create a ruffle effect. The thread paths are really simple in this project. The Superduo bracelet tutorial includes very detailed instructions and diagrams to show you what to do.
I designed this project with some of the seed beads that were being launched on Jewellery Maker TV’s seed bead launch show. I wanted to make something that showed both the simplicity and flexibility of the different types of seed beads. True2 beads are quite new to the beading market, so you can find out more about them here. Superduos have been around for a while, but their two-hole design makes them endlessly fascinating to use. Many people will be familiar with the basic seed bead. Size 8 is a nice size to try when you are starting out as it’s not too small. The two-holed elements mean that this design may feel a little bit fiddly, but it’s not challenging otherwise.
The Superduo Bracelet Tutorial includes a full list of the materials you will need. You can find some lovely clasp options from Jewellery Maker – I used one that they had provided. The seed beads are also available from all good bead shops and you can change the colouring to suit your tastes. In essence you will be working in a very, very simple Peyote stitch, so if you want to know more about that technique before you start, try this blog for some help.
