Description
This GemDuo beaded bead bracelet pattern is one of my first experiments with the GemDuo beads. It is a simple project that doesn’t require too many beads. So, this is a great one for anyone on a tight budget, or a bead-stash clearing mission!
Materials
You can buy all the beads and thread for this project in the beading supplies department.
The beaded beads are made with the following materials:
- GemDuos
- RounDuos
- Size 11 Delicas
- Your choice of beading thread
Then you can use some 4mm pearls, or something similar, to make the bracelet. You can really have fun with design. Once you have made your beaded beads, this project is just stringing.
Skills and Techniques
The GemDuo beaded beads are so simple to make. You are basically just going to be stringing beads in a particular order. So, even if you are a complete beginner, you should be able to make this project.
About the GemDuo Beaded Bead Design
As I mentioned, this was an early experiment with GemDuo beads. So, I was concerned with seeing how they worked together. I love beaded beads for this type of thing. They are usually quick to make and don’t require too many materials. So, this is a great way to try out a new bead type without having to invest too much time and money.
I tried a couple of colour experiments. I was working with the backlit GemDuos. For those of you who have not seen these beads before, the backlit colouring is amazing. The factory applies a special coating during manufacture. So, this gives the impression that the light is literally shining out of the beads. Add a colour hue and the results are stunning!
As with all beads, the backlit GemDuos look very different depending on which beads you use with them. So, I tried a couple of ideas – a monochromatic and a contrasting beaded bead. I’ll leave you to decide which you think works best!
The pattern instructions include full details about my colour experiment. So, you can just use the same colours as me if you want. Or follow my rules to create your own colour scheme.
I have also given you detailed steps with diagrams and photos to show you how to make this project. I hope you enjoy it!
