About this Necklace Pattern

If you’re new to peanut beads or Twin Holes, then this is a great pattern to let you experiment with these new seed beads. The pattern includes eight pages of comprehensive instructions accompanied by diagrams and photos. This is suitable for advanced beaders and uses a variety of bead types and techniques: tubular Right Angle Weave (or you can work in CRAW if you wish), tubular Peyote stitch, Wave stitch and Herringbone stitch. It requires 10g of seed beads, 30g of Twin Holes, 20g of peanut beads, some pearls, 27mm Swarovski rivolis and findings. The pattern incorporates a magnetic clasp concealed inside one of the bells. Finished length is about 18″, but this can be adjusted by adjusting the length of chain that you bead.

The necklace pattern shows you how to make each component: the bezelled rivolis, twin hole bells and the chain, then everything is joined together. Although I used Twin Hole beads for my original necklace, this design will actually also work with Superduos. Just don’t try to mix the two different brands if you decide to use a mixture of different colours! The necklace pattern requires really good tension, so if this is something with which you struggle, then I would recommend going round your thread paths a couple of times: the beads with which you are working should have large enough holes to accommodate this. I used Fireline for this project because I find that it really helps me to get a good tension as I work. My other top tip for this necklace pattern is, remember to check your twin holes: both holes should be free from blockages and if not you will have problems! So, as you add each bead, make sure you remember to check that both holes are clear. Lastly, don’t be put off by the idea of bezelling around 27mm Rivolis: the bezel is created with the twin hole beads, so it doesn’t take as long as you might imagine! Now, over to you and I hope you enjoy this necklace pattern.
