Learn how to make this superduo egg cup beaded box. It is in fact a gift box designed to hold a Cadbury’s Creme Egg…or something similar. Or, you could fill it with lots of smaller chocolates or candies…or something completely different! Before we get onto that, let me tell you more about this project…

Materials

You are going to be working with just Superduos and size 8 seed beads. Plus Fireline beading thread. It is important to use the right materials for this. If you try using Twin Holes, or the wrong kind of thread, your box is likely to end up saggy and unable to hold its shape. I have explained all of that in the tutorial. So, you have all the guidance you need for your materials.

In total, this requires about 60g of Superduos. But you can use as many different colours as you want for your egg cup. So, this could be a great project for using up a few leftovers.

Experience and Techniques

You are going to be working entirely in tubular Peyote stitch. The techniques here are very simple, but the pattern does assume that you are already familiar with Peyote and it will be helpful if you have used Superduos in the past.

Now, if you are new to beading, but really want to do this, don’t be put off. In the tutorial, I have also included links to online classes that will help you acquire the basic skills that you need.

About the Superduo egg cup beaded box tutorial

This is a 10-page PDF file that will download automatically when you order. The instructions are mostly written, but I have also included diagrams to illustrate the major thread paths that this project uses.

You have the option of making both the egg cup and the egg, or just the egg cup on its own. You also have plenty of freedom to personalise this through colouring and pattern.

This is a pretty quick make. A confident beader will be able to complete this in an afternoon. So, it makes great gifts for friends and family. The perfect way to share a few treats for Easter…or any other time of the year.

And if you are in the mood for some more Easter makes, check out this link for plenty more project ideas.
