These Cellini spiral napkin rings will make a great talking point if you like entertaining. You could also give a set for a lovely gift for friends or family.

Materials

I have included six different variations of the Cellini Spiral Napkin rings. You might just want to make one. So, you will need a range of beads, including:

  • Seed beads in size 11
  • Size 8 seed beads
  • Size 6 seed beads
  • 4mm firepolish or crystal or pearls
  • Your choice of beading thread

You can check out my beading supplies if you need any of these. Although, I suspect you may already have most of them in your stash!

Techniques and Experience

Cellini spiral is basically a variation of tubular Peyote stitch. The pattern gives you six different variations. So, this will allow you to experiment with creating different textures.

I have assumed you are familiar with the idea of ‘zipping up’ Peyote tubes. If this is not the case, then you might be interested in this basic kit that teaches you how to create a simple Peyote tube and zip it into a bangle.

The pattern includes diagrams to illustrate the start of the tube and photographs illustrate the different variations.

Suitable for all levels, you can make these rings in under two hours.

About the Cellini Spiral Napkin Rings

I created this project as a teaching aid originally. I wanted to teach Cellini spiral. Yet, it can be time consuming to make a complete necklace or bracelet using this technique. So, I was looking for a quicker project.

I had also recently moved house and was very much in the ‘decorating’ frame of mind. I thought these napkin rings would be perfect for entertaining in my new home. So, I created variations to match my colour scheme. You don’t have to make all six variations, but you have the option!
