Description
This tutorial gives you seven beaded Christmas motifs. You can use these for all kinds of things. So, I will explain that below. I have included the five little motifs that you see in the photo. Plus two Christmas greetings. So, you have plenty of options!
Materials
You simply need seed beads or Delicas for these beaded Christmas motifs. The tutorial includes a detailed explanation of the difference in size of all the beads. I then go on to show you how to apply this information in order to make your motif to the size you want.
Apart from that, you simply need beading needle and scissors.
Techniques
The beaded Christmas motifs are made in a range of techniques. These include Peyote stitch, brick stitch and square stitch. If you would like to find out more about any of these techniques, then visit this blog.
For each technique, I have given you a link to free tutorials. So, if you need to learn the techniques as you go, you have that support.
This tutorial should be accessible to anyone who enjoys beading.
Ideas for using the beaded Christmas motifs
I developed these designs because I make Christmas cards every year. I like to include a little beaded motif that can be detached from the card, then used as a decoration. So, this is like giving the recipient a little gift as well as a card.
I introduced some designs for these ‘keepsake cards’ in my ebook, ‘Beaded Christmas Gifts and Cards.’ So, if you want to find out how to make the cards, grab a copy of the ebook!
Of course, you can just make the motifs to hang on your Christmas tree. Or, maybe you like a little bit of festive jewellery? Well, these make really cute earrings. Or perhaps make several and hang them on a charm bracelet.
I have also used mine to add some decoration to gift tags on presents. I’m sure you can think of many more ideas and uses for yours!
