Description
The floral pearls necklace pattern makes a choker length necklace. Although, you can alter the length very easily, if you wish. You can also use the same design to make a bracelet or pearl earrings.
The project uses very basic peyote stitch. I used an adjustable toggle clasp to fasten the necklace. In order to keep the design theme, I made this clasp from the pearls. So, you will not need to buy a clasp.
I completed my floral pearls necklace in a day. The project is suitable for anyone who has some experience of tubular or circular peyote. If you don’t know these techniques, I can help with free tutorials. So, please check the section about experience down below.
The floral pearls necklace is perfect for an elegant outfit or would be lovely for a wedding.
Materials for the Floral Pearls Necklace
I have used dyed glass pearls for this project. You need 10mm and 6mm sizes. These materials are inexpensive and are usually sold in strings. So, you will very probably have enough to make more than one necklace. Alternatively, make a bracelet and earrings to match your necklace.
If you are making the floral pearls necklace for a special occasion, you could consider splashing out on more expensive pearls. You do not need to go all the way up to cultured or freshwater. Swarovski make some gorgeous, high quality glass pearls. So, you might want to think about using those.
I have used size 11 seed beads. So, these will be used to create a little casing for your larger pearls. If you are new to beading, then you may not realise how much different brands of seed beads differ. I carried out a little experiment and wrote about it here.
The reason I’m telling you this, is if you are having trouble fitting your casing to your pearls, it could be because you are using a different brand of seed beads. I used Matsuno brand, which I also sell in my beading supplies.
What experience do I need?
