Description
I named this design Autumn Kiss Bracelet because it included the little ‘x’ motif. So, this design is part of my Autumn collection, 2017, for no other reason than the colouring!
Materials
To make the Autumn Kiss bracelet, you will need the following materials:
- Size 11 Miyuki seed beads
- DiscDuo Beads
- RounTrio Beads
- True2 Beads
- Your choice of thread – whatever allows you the best tension
I finished the bracelet with a beaded clasp. So, you don’t need to worry about any findings for this project. You can find all the beads on this website in my beading supplies department.
Experience and Techniques
This bracelet basically uses Peyote stitch. The main structure comprises even count Peyote. The embellishment is added with basic stringing. I then used circular Peyote to make the clasp.
The pattern assumes you are already familiar with Peyote stitch. So, if you need a reminder, you can get free tutorials from me on this website.
I recommend this pattern for intermediate beaders. The DiscDuo and RounTrio beads contain two and three holes respectively. So, you should feel comfortable following patterns and using mutiple hole beads.
About the Autumn Kiss Bracelet
A couple of things contributed to the idea behind the design. I carry out design work for the Potomac Bead Company. So, this was an experiment with two of their multi-holed beads.
I love using these beads to create layers and embellishment within a design. So, I simply wanted to see what was possible here.
The second influence came from the Autumn theme. So, I chose beads that reflected an Autumnal colour scheme. I have used reds and browns, but added a tiny gold highlight.
However, the Autumn Kiss bracelet design will work in any colourway. If you are wanting to re-colour it, then you will be safe sticking to a fairly monochromatic palette. So, think shades. For example, turquoise with green or blue would work. Or, maybe try a real statement piece by using white DiscDuo and RounTrios beads, then black seed beads and True2.
