French Beaded Tulip Pattern

This French beaded tulip pattern uses four different French Beading techniques to create a tulip which you can plant in a pot. Alternatively, omit the leaves and you can make a vase of these lovely flowers.

The French beaded tulip pattern also includes advice about how to change the size of the flower. So, you can make a larger version if you prefer.

The instructions include reminders about the techniques. However, if you are new to French Beading, you may be interested in my book, ‘French Beaded Flowers and Wedding Bouquets‘. This includes full video demonstrations of all the basic techniques.

You will be learning how to use the basic technique to create flowers and leaves. Then I show you how to stiffen your leaves to give them the ability to stand on their own.

Materials

You will need size 11 Matsuno seed beads in your chosen petal colour and leaf colour. You will find it easiest to use a bead spinner when you are threading your beads onto the wire for your French beaded tulip. This requires about 30g of beads to work well. So, although you may have beads in your existing stash, you may need to buy more for the project. I can help you there. I sell 50g packs of Matsuno beads, as well as the smaller pack sizes. So, check out the beading supplies!

In addition to the beads, you will need coloured craft wire to match or tone with your beads. You will also need some floral stem tape, some stiffer lengths of wire and some embroidery silk to finish the stems of your French Beaded flowers. I sell all these products as well. So, make sure you check out the beading supplies to get everything you need.

You might like to combine this pattern with some other spring flowers, like my iris, snowdrops and daffodils. I have included links to them below.
