About the Beaded Wrist Corsage
This beaded wrist corsage was a project that I designed and made several years ago, but I only released the pattern in 2016.
I wanted to use traditional bead-weaving techniques to create a wrist corsage. I then had the brilliant idea of designing something for all occasions.
So, the beaded bracelet band is separate from the flower. You can wear the band as a bracelet in its own right, so this is perfect for less formal occasions. Then, you can add the flower as it works with a clever clasp design.
So, this means you can make several different flowers to wear with the same bracelet band. Or vice versa, a single neutral coloured flower could be worn with different outfits. Just make a new bracelet band to match the colouring of each outfit!
A beaded wrist corsage is of course a lovely touch for a wedding or a school prom. This design is not too overwhelming, so it also makes a gorgeous bracelet on any occasion.
Materials and Techniques
The bracelet is made using Tila beads and Delicas and fastens with a magnetic clasp. I have included special instructions to help you choose the best quality clasp.
For the flower you will be bezelling around a Rivoli. Then add petals and leaves, using Peyote stitch. Finally, finish it all with a delicate embellishment. You can make this with pearls or crystals, depending on how much sparkle you like.
If you need any help with the techniques, you can find free tutorials to download on this website. I suggest this is a project for intermediate beaders.
Colour Inspiration
You can make the beaded wrist corsage in literally any colour combination.
If you look carefully at the photos, you will see my own pair are mix and match. I have a matching pink flower and bracelet that is lovely worn in the summer. Then a more neutral black and white flower and bracelet.
However, the neutral flower also looks lovely when worn with the coloured bracelet to pep it up. I can tone down the brightly coloured beaded wrist corsage by pairing that flower with the black and white bracelet.
Once you understand the clasp mechanism, you can adapt other flower patterns to create different styles of flower for the your own beaded wrist corsage. So, this really is a most adaptable design. It is the perfect finish to any outfit.
