Description
This International Beading Week beaded box pattern is actually part of a full virtual workshop. So, purchasing this here, now, will give you just the PDF tutorial.
If you would also like to benefit from video demonstrations and access to personal help from me, you should join the full workshop. You can do that by using this link: https://my-world-of-beads.teachable.com/p/international-beading-week-beaded-box-tutorial
If you’re not sure which option is right for you, you can just purchase the PDF tutorial here. Then, if you decide you would benefit from the workshop, you can enrol in that at a later date. I have included instructions for doing that in the PDF you’re getting here.
Materials
You can make the International Beading Week beaded box with either size 11 Delicas or size 10 Delicas.
If you are using size 11, you will need a total of about 14g. If you choose size 10, then you will want about 25g.
Now, you can follow my colouring – I have included the actual colour numbers I used. Or, you can change it to your own colour scheme. The ‘colours’ you see here need just 1-2g of delicas. So, this project is great for using up odds and ends from your stash. That may mean you don’t even need to buy any new beads for this.
You will also need a beading thread that will help you get good tension. For me, that is Fireline. But if you have a different preference, you can use that.
Experience and Techniques
This is a simple beaded box. You will be working in Peyote stitch, using the following variations:
- circular
- tubular
- increasing and decreasing within a row
- stitch-in-the-ditch
- zipping up
So, in the PDF I have assumed you know these techniques. On the course, I have also included video demonstrations of them.
About the International Beading Week Beaded Box
I created this design to celebrate IBW 2019. I wanted to do a beadalong and I’ve had a lot of requests for learning how to make beaded boxes. So, I created this simple design.
It is inspired by the colouring and logo of IBW. So, you see beaders coming together to celebrate beadwork.
