Description
Beaded Orchid Pattern
In order to make the full beaded orchid pot plant, you will need my book, ‘Bead Flowers and Wedding Bouquets‘. It gives the instructions for the beaded orchid flowers. You also get video demonstrations of the techniques you will need to use. The pattern you are buying here will teach you how to make orchid leaves and lace them to give them strength. You will also learn how to assemble the complete flower and plant it in a pot.
Materials
You will need size 11 Matsuno seed beads in your choice of colours to make the beaded orchid flowers, plus green for the leaves. I sell this brand of beads in packs of 10g or 50g. So, the 50g packs are perfect for French beading. Plus, they save you a bit of money!
The French beaded orchid pattern instructions assume that you will be using a bead spinner to thread your beads. However, you can just as easily thread everything by hand to start with. This is one of the patterns that I developed early on in my designing career. So, it is accessible to all levels. It will also give you a good overview of the different types of techniques you can use to make French beaded flowers.
In addition to the beads, you will need coloured craft wire to match or tone with your beads. You will also need some floral stem tape, some stiffer lengths of wire and some embroidery silk to finish the stems of your French Beaded flowers. Check the beading supplies here for all these.
