This French beaded rose pattern is the second that I’ve published. But my original pattern is exclusive to one of my ebooks. So, I thought I would try something different here!
My French beaded rose pattern needs the following materials:
- Size 11 seed beads in flower colour and green
- 24ga (0.5mm) wire to match your beads
- Floral stem tape
- Embroidery silk
- Stem stiffening wire
You can find all these products in my beading supplies department here>>
Have fun deciding on the colouring to use for your rose. There are just so many options!
Experience and Techniques
This is an intermediate level French beading project. I have included technique reminders for you. So, you will be using the Horizontal Basic, Continuous Double Loops and the Basic technique.
About the French Beaded Rose Pattern
As I said at the start, this is my second French beaded rose pattern. The first ended up in my first French beading ebook, ‘Bead Flowers and Wedding Bouquets‘. If you take a look at the gallery photos, you can see a sample wrist corsage that used both roses. So, you can see the difference between them.
Basically, a couple of years after I had made my first rose, I decided to see if it could be made using different techniques. So, this is what I came up with.
Now, I haven’t published the pattern before now because I wasn’t sure if I liked it! But I did show it to some beading friends and it proved popular. So, let’s see.
To be more precise, I like the flower. I’m just not sure whether it is really a rose or maybe a Ranunculus or Peony. So, how about you decide?
Whatever you think it is, I hope you can see from all the photos that it works well in a range of displays. So, enjoy making your own versions!
