If you’ve been completing your Beadalong with me over the past week, you’re probably wondering what on earth I’m giving you to do for days 8 and 9.

Well, quite simply, go ahead and treat yourself! I’ll get onto that in a second…

Beadalong Thank You!

I’m really thrilled that so many people have taken part in my Beadalong. I have been hearing from lots of you and seeing your projects grow. I’ve loved seeing your different colour choices.

My plan is to put together a blog post to show all the brilliant work that has been going on this week. So, if you have been taking part, then please send me a photo of your project and I will include you too!

I want to give a big shout out to the members of a Facebook group, ‘Seed Beads and More‘. Now, when National Beading Week started, I didn’t know about this group. Then their facilitator, Anita, contacted me to ask if I would like to join. Well, I took a look and jumped at the chance.

This is a really lovely group. Every month they have a challenge. So, it’s a chance to learn a new technique or finish a PHD. All this is supported with free tutorials for members to use.

All the members have been really welcoming. Several have been following the Beadalong and sharing their achievements each day. It’s brilliant to be part of such a vibrant, enthusiastic and talented collection of beaders. So, if you want to find out more and maybe join yourself, the group’s Facebook page is here.

Before I started the Beadalong, I said that National Beading Week is all about learning something new and celebrating beadwork. Well, I’ve met lovely new beaders and also done a new project of my own. So, you can expect a French beaded Thistle pattern to be appearing on here very soon…

  1. Katie, again thank you for your support and generosity. It has been great fun and a wonderful learning experience. I haven’t completed the two strawberry projects yet but they have taught me new techniques and how to better do some other ones. Thank you.

    1. It’s an absolute pleasure Fran! I’m so glad you’ve been able to join me and learn some new techniques this week. So, I hope you will enjoy completing your projects and maybe this has inspired you to try more French beading!
