The Magic Sparkle bracelet is a simple project to make. You may not think so, but trust me! I designed this for beginners and beyond and everyone who tries this project loves it.
Materials for the Magic Sparkle Bracelet
You are going to be using good sized beads for this bracelet. It is a seed bead only project. So, it’s a great place to start.
Choose some size 8 seed beads in a neutral colour for the base of the bracelet.
Then, pick some 4mm pearls and some 4mm crystals. You can use firepolish beads or bicones. If you want top quality then go for Swarovski crystal. Or, if you are on a budget, just buy what you can afford.
Lastly, you will need a clasp. I recommend a toggle clasp, or a slide clasp or a magnetic clasp for bracelets. If you need to know more about choosing clasps, then check out this blog.
If you are using crystals, then I suggest you use Fireline beading thread for the Magic Sparkle bracelet. Nylon based threads can tear easily when they rub against crystals. So I prefer Fireline.
You can find all your beading supplies here.
What Techniques do I need?
This is a beginner level project. So, you don’t need to know any techniques in advance. I am going to be showing you how to work in the most basic Right Angle Weave.
Before you run away in fear because people have told you that Right Angle Weave is a nightmare, this bracelet is really simple!
I will show you how to create a basic stitch. The complex magic and sparkle elements are just easy embellishment. So, stick with me and try this out!
I have taught this at lots of workshops and it is always a really popular project. It looks stunning, but is far more simple than you might think.
