Down the rabbit hole IBW2021 day 1, Katie Dean, Beadflowers

IBW day 1…Alice’s Adventure leads to your sale bargains…

Every day during International Beading Week, I’m going to be offering you some HUGE sale bargains on beading patterns.

You will be able to find these here on my Beadflowers website and also in my Etsy store. So, even if you can’t shop on Beadflowers, you won’t be missing out.

Each day’s sale patterns will be linked to Alice’s adventure. So, you’re going to have to hunt out the bargains, but I will give you some clues…

Your clues

When Alice finally lands at the bottom of the rabbit hole, she finds herself in a long hallway. Lots of doors lead off the hall, but as she tries each one, she discovers they are all locked.

Eventually, she notices a small table and sees a KEY on it. Feeling hopeful, she begins to try the key in each door.

Sure enough, it soon opens one of these doors. Alice kneels down to peer through and sees the most beautiful garden of FLOWERS. Oh, how she longs to be in that garden!

But sadly, Alice is too big to fit through the door.

Looking around in despair, she suddenly notices a bottle, with the label, ‘Drink me’. Alice is a sensible girl, and she does consider the possibility that this may actually be some kind of poison. But curiosity gets the better of her, and she drinks the potion.

She starts feeling very strange and soon realises she is actually shrinking!

When she stops shrinking, she dashes back to the door. Now, she is small enough to fit through it. But…oh dear! The door has shut again and the key is stuck back up on the table. Alice is too small to reach it now!

Feeling confused and frustrated, Alice soon becomes aware of a piece of cake, with the convenient label, ‘Eat me.’ She reasons that, since the drink didn’t harm her, she should try the cake. So, she takes a bite.

Once again, a strange sensation overcomes Alice. She realises she is now growing bigger again.

She grows bigger…and bigger…and bigger still. So, she can reach the key and unlock the door to the garden again. But she’s now far too big to fit through. What will she do?

Over to you…

I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out whether Alice gets into the garden.

But if you’ve been clever enough to detect the two clues in that little story, they will lead you to the IBW day 1 sale patterns. You can use the search bar at the top of this page to type in your clues and see what comes up. Or, you can use this link to go to my Etsy store and look for them in there.

Win a £50 Gift Card

All week, I’m going to be running a prize draw. At the end of the week, one lucky person will be winning a £50 gift card to spend either on the Beadflowers website, or in my Etsy store (winners choice).

In order to enter the prize draw, you need to correctly answer one question…

Which creature that features in ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ am I talking about in the clue below, and how many of my published beading patterns on the Beadflowers website, on or after 30th July 2021, feature that creature?

Your Clue for IBW day 1

The name of this creature comes from the Latin and Spanish word for fire

How to enter the prize draw

Don’t worry if you haven’t got the answer yet…I’ll be giving you a new clue every day. Each clue will refer to the same creature. So, if you can’t get it from one, you may be able to work it out from another clue, or by combining several clues.

You will also notice that I’ve asked you about the number of patterns featuring that creature. So, you’ll need to check that as well. And please note – it is the number of patterns on the Beadflowers website, not in my Etsy store or anywhere else.

Entries will close at 10am on 2nd August 2021. So, you need to get your entry in before then.

The winner will be drawn, at random, from all the correct entries, and contacted via email by 7th August 2021.

Anyone from anywhere in the world can enter. The results are final and disputes will not be entered into.
