Last Friday I finally made it down to Stitchncraft bead shop in Dorset. I say ‘finally’ because my journey getting there was rather longer than it might have been…firstly, I was originally going to teach a workshop there in 2013, but that was cancelled, so I felt very lucky to be invited back again this…
Category: Beadwork
I have been beading for over fifteen years and my beadwork is bound up with my health. You will know this story if you have followed my blog before.
Where My Beadwork Began
I started beading after becoming seriously ill and I have found the beadwork consistently therapeutic. Beading has also given me a creative outlet and I think this is a healthy thing for anyone. I have come to know a lot of other beaders and I realise that many of us are suffering from difficult health conditions.
So, although I wanted to write mostly about my beading adventures, I have also talked more personally. I think we can all support each other. Sometimes it is comforting just to know that you’re not the only one who is struggling. So, I’ve shared some of my struggles and doubts on here. Since I believe it’s important to speak out, I thought I had better start by setting an example!
I hope you enjoy reading about my general beading adventures in this part of the blog.

It’s Show Time!
Two weeks ago today I was recovering from the excitement of the Big Bead Show at Sandown park. I taught a workshop, did a book signing session and spent the day meeting up with lots of beady friends. I also made some new friends – sort of…my workshop was followed by a Soutache taster session…
So, which challenges did you take up?
It’s almost the end of March, so that means that National Craft month is drawing to a close…not that this is going to make any difference to me – I craft each and every day in any case! It has been a lovely chance to celebrate craft though and I’m loving the arrival of the…

Well, this is the next instalment in the National Craft Month Challenge for March 2014. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, or if you missed the first part of the challenge, the original idea is explained here, along with challenges one and two. Challenge three can be found here. This is setting…
National Craft Month Challenge
Well, earlier this week I decided to celebrate two ideas in one challenge! March is National Craft Month, so it’s a great excuse to get out your beads (or other favourite crafting materials) and make some projects…as if we need an excuse to do that, let’s be honest! Secondly, I am constantly reminded how much…

Having Beady Fun…and a useful tip for you!
Oh dear – I’ve just noticed how long it’s been since I wrote anything on here. That may give the impression that I haven’t done anything, but far from it…the last few weeks have been full of exciting things, so here’s just a taster! Another necklace project that I’d been dying to share with everyone…
