Bits and Pieces

There is so much going on with me at the moment that I’m just going to write a short post with a few mentions of the highlights. The CFS has been playing up recently, so it’s been tough trying to keep on track. I’m really happy to announce that my Christmas Beads books are all nearing publication – I’ve just been proof-reading volume 1, so that could make it out in the next few days. It is on pre-order here on my website for anyone who wants to be sure of getting their copy as soon as it’s available.

It is also nearly time for the Big Bead Show at Sandown Park (19th October). This year, for the first time, I’m going to be teaching a mini masterclass. I have previously taught one hour taster workshops, but this little class will be a chance for people to spend three hours beading with me and I will be teaching some French Beading – oxeye daisies to be precise, but constructing them will cover the main techniques of French Beading, so everyone will leave with a really good understanding that will enable them to make a lot more different flowers. I’m looking forward to it and to meeting lots of new students, so if you are interested, but haven’t yet booked, make sure you book your place in advance. I have also been asked to do a book signing session afterwards, so I hope I will get to meet a lot of people – it’s always great fun to have a good old ‘beady’ gossip!

In another great opportunity, the few free demonstrations that I did at Hobbycraft in Watford have now turned into regular classes. At least I’m hoping that they will be popular enough to become really regular! I’m going to be teaching individual projects in the store: Hobbycraft provides all the materials and it gives everyone a chance to try out some beading, either to stick with doing that on a regular basis or perhaps to decide to try a more structured course. Either way, it’s a great chance to meet some new people, so if anyone is in the area, take a look at the teaching section on here and you will be able to see all the dates.

So, that’s at least three reasons why I need to get myself back on track! There are a few more to mention as well, but I’m saving those for another time…
