These SuperDuo cushion beaded beads are quick and easy to make. You can experiment with different colouring. They are also a great way to use up odd leftover beads!

Each beaded bead measures about 1″ (2.5cm) across and is half that size in depth.

Materials

Each beaded bead just needs a few SuperDuos – or Twin Holes – and a few Peanut beads. (These beads are also called Farfalle beads, depending on the manufacturer).

If you don’t have any peanut beads, the pattern should also work with size 8 seed beads. But you will lose some of the texture in your beaded bead.

You can use your favourite beading thread – try something that will give you good tension to create a firm finish.

If you are buying new, then I have all these supplies right here>>

Experience and Techniques

This is a very simple project. It only takes ten minutes – or less – to make each of the SuperDuo cushion beaded beads. So, you can string some jewellery with them in no time.

I think this pattern is suitable for all levels. So, give it a try!

You are going to be working in circular Peyote. But with so few beads, this is really simple. I have included detailed instructions and diagrams to guide everyone through this.

About the SuperDuo Cushion Beaded Beads

This is/was my first published beading pattern for 2019. It marks the start of a little year-long challenge for me.

I am a proud member of the Seed Beads and More group on Facebook. They have a monthly beadalong with a different theme each month. But they also have a couple of year-long projects. So, during 2019, one of these is making beaded beads. Now, I love beaded beads for many reasons. So, I decided I just had to participate in this challenge! But I wanted to add my own little twist…

My challenge for 2019 is to publish 50 beaded bead patterns. Then, at the end of the year, to string all my beaded beads into a necklace. That’s why I decided on 50 patterns, so I have a couple of weeks to design and string the necklace! You can read all about this on my blog. Plus, if you want to follow my progress, make sure you are signed up to my mailing list, where I’ll be keeping everyone updated as each new pattern goes live.

For now, I hope you enjoy the first pattern: Superduo cushion beaded beads. Enjoy the texture and cushioned feel of these little beauties. Oh, and let me know how you string yours – you have options, so I’m interested to see what you do!
