October 2017 and I’m on a mission to create beading projects to celebrate Autumn. So, this Fall IrisDuo bracelet is my latest design on the theme.

Materials

For the Fall IrisDuo Bracelet, you will need the following:

  • IrisDuo beads in two colours
  • RounDuo Beads
  • DiscDuo Beads
  • Size 11 seed beads
  • 3mm Firepolish beads
  • Your choice of beading thread

I have all these materials available here in my beading supplies department.

Beading thread is very personal. I prefer to use Fireline as I find it is strong and helps me get good tension. However, other people completely disagree. So, for this project, you should use the thread that you like, but it does need to be strong.

Techniques and Experience

Believe it or not, the Fall IrisDuo bracelet is made entirely from Peyote stitch. The pattern is simple to follow. So, this is really suitable for anyone who knows a little Peyote and wants to improve their skills.

If you are still learning the technique, then don’t forget to check out my free tutorials. I have free technique sheets that you can download to try many different variations of Peyote.

About the Fall IrisDuo Bracelet

As I have already mentioned, this design is part of my Autumn 2017 collection. I have only recently started working with IrisDuo beads, but they are a delight.

So, I quickly realised that I could use them to create a sort of leaf motif. Then, I simply had to find the best beads to connect with them. The colouring of course comes from the Fall/Autumn theme.

So, you might like the design, but you could re-colour it in any way. You might elect to use just a single colour of IrisDuo. Punctuate that with contrasting round beads. Try a few different ideas! If you’re not sure about colour theory, then this blog is a great place to start learning.
