This peanut beads beaded bead pattern is a good introduction to making beaded beads. It is also a good introduction to using Peanut beads. So, read on to find out more…

Materials

Your peanut beads beaded bead requires the following materials:

  • Peanut beads in three different colours – just 54 of each
  • Size 8 seed beads – only 1g
  • Size 11 seed beads – only 1g
  • Your choice of beading thread

So, you very possibly have everything you need in your stash!

If you wish, you can also make this beaded bead using size 8 seed beads instead of the Peanut beads.

Note: you may also see Peanut beads referred to as ‘Farfalle’ beads. They are essentially the same thing, just made by different manufacturers. Just make sure you check the sizing of the beads. This pattern uses 2mm x 4mm beads and it may not work as well with a different size!

Experience and Techniques

This is a simple beaded bead, so it is one that you can try at any level.

If you are a complete beginner to all types of beading, then I suggest you use the size 8 beads before you try this with Peanut beads. I have explained that in the pattern. If you already have some beading experience, then you can try this with the materials suggested.

You are going to be working in tubular Peyote. But this is a good project for learning. I have used colouring to help you. Plus, I have illustrated all the steps with diagrams, so this pattern should be easy to follow.

About the peanut beads beaded bead

This beading pattern is one of the set of 50 I am producing as my challenge for 2019. (You can read all about the challenge here!)

I asked for some suggestions for themes or beads that people would like to try. So, someone suggested a bead made with peanut beads. I love these because of the wonderful texture they give.

These beaded beads will string beautifully into any kind of jewellery. Each bead is about 1.5″ (4cm) long and about 1″ wide. So, they make a nice statement. You can have fun experimenting with different colouring as well.
