This flower vase beaded box pattern uses a combination of basic seed beads to create an amazing ornament. So, let me tell you more about the project.

You will need the following beads to make your flower vase beaded box:

  • Size 11 Delicas
  • Size 11 rounded seed beads
  • 10mm wooden beads
  • Size 8 seed beads

You are also going to need your favourite beading thread. I am recommending Fireline as you need something that will give you excellent tension. If you prefer a different beading thread and feel sure that will be able to create the necessary tension, you are welcome to use that.

I have included details about the colours I used and the colour options you have, all in the tutorial.

Experience and Techniques

You are going to be working in Peyote stitch. You will be using the following variations:

  • circular and tubular
  • Stitch-in-the-ditch
  • Diamond Peyote
  • Zipping up

I have included detailed diagrams to show thread paths. So, if these are techniques you haven’t used before, you can learn as you work. You can also find more information about all these variations at this link.

And the tutorial includes links to online classes that will demonstrate things on video if you do need any extra help.

The techniques are all intermediate level. But you will be asked to use your initiative in this project, so it is only for people who are good at following instructions and thinking for themselves.

About the flower vase beaded box

The finished size of this beaded box is about 3″ wide and 6″ high. So, it gives you excellent storage space.

The vase forms the base of the box, and is of course hollow for storage. The flower arrangement forms the lid and this is also hollow so could be used for storage. Or, the two combined will allow storage of a taller item inside.

I have included lots of help and suggestions for colouring. You can even change the pattern on the vase. So, I have included a couple of additional designs that you could use for that.

This is a really fun project to make and it will allow you to use up leftover seed beads if necessary. You could create a very colourful flower arrangement, using lots of odds and ends.

And if you like this idea, it pairs very well with my tea pot beaded box. So, you may want to check that out at this link.
