For this project you will need size 10 Delicas and beading thread. It is worked in Peyote stitch, with a little bit of Square stitch. It assumes you are familiar with both techniques, but you can download free tutorials from this website to help with these techniques. Suitable for beaders with some experience.

You will receive the pattern as an automatic download on your receipt. Please remember to check your spam folder if you can’t find the receipt in your inbox. You can also log in to your account on this website to access and download your pattern, or email me if you are having problems.

The Church

The idea for my Church beaded box evolved from my Gingerbread House beaded box pattern. The basic box is the same, but with a different pattern built into the design. You will also learn how to make a steeple to add to your church. As with the Gingerbread House, this is a useful box that will be great for storing small objects, like packets of beads, needles or reels of thread. When I was making the Gingerbread House, I realised that it would be possible (and fun!) to make a series of beaded box patterns with different themes. They would need to be recognisable images and subjects. So, a church with its stained glass windows and steeple seemed like a fun place to start. I have more ideas, so there may be more projects to follow along this theme!

About this Beaded Box Pattern

This beaded box pattern is worked primarily in Peyote stitch. You will be using tubular and circular Peyote stitch in different shapes and forms. If these are techniques with which you are not to familiar, you will need to learn them, but the good news is, you can find free tutorials here! You will also need to use a little bit of Square Stitch. Again, the beaded box pattern assumes that you are familiar with the basics, but if this is not the case, you can find a free tutorial here.

The entire project uses size 10 Delicas and it makes a box that measures around 6cm (2.5″) long, 4cm (1.5″) wide and 10cm (4″) high – including the steeple. It is perfectly possible to scale this down by using size 11 Delicas. If you do, just make sure you keep to the same size beads for the entire project.

If you enjoy this beaded box pattern, then you can find more from me on this website. I am adding new patterns all the time. So, if you want to keep up to date, make sure you join my mailing list.
