This beaded Valentines gift box has two pattern options, so please make sure you choose the right one for you. I developed this pattern from my Christmas present beaded box. So, if you have already taken that class, you will only need the pattern charts option here.

If you have never enrolled on that class, you can purchase the full pattern option here and that will give you all the instructions you need. You will see that you have the option to enrol on the class later on, if you wish to benefit from the videos and additional material that the class gives you. But you don’t have to use the class material – everything you need for this beaded box is in the full instructions here.

So, now we’ve got that admin out of the way, let’s take a closer look at the beaded Valentines gift box pattern…

Materials

You are going to need size 11 Delicas for this project. You should pick two colours. I chose a red and gold theme. But you might want something quite different.

Red and white, or pink and white are lovely traditional combinations for Valentines Day. Or, maybe you try something with some metallic (silver or gold and a contrast). You could go a little gothic, including some black. Or try a bright rainbow!

You might even elect to use different colours for each heart on your box. So, you have plenty of options to try out…

You will also need one Dobble bead, or one 8mm round bead. Plus your favourite beading thread.

Experience and Techniques

Because of the pattern in this design, I have marked this as an advanced project. You are going to be working in tubular and circular Peyote stitch. So, you should be familiar with increasing. You will also be using some stitch-in-the-ditch technique.

All of this is explained with photos and diagrams in this pattern. If you already have access to the online course (or if you upgrade to get access to that as well), then you also get video demonstrations of all the techniques.

About the Beaded Valentines Gift Box

I have already explained how this pattern works. So, let me give you a few more details about it.

The finished gift box is a couple of inches in diameter (each way). It fastens and unfastens with a clever ribbon design, which you can see demonstrated in this YouTube video. That will also help you to get a sense of scale for this design.

If you’re a relatively experienced beader, you can make this gift box in around 12 hours.

The pattern instructions give you both beading charts and word charts to follow, for the pattern. Plus, you get diagrams and photos to show you the technique details.

It really is a very special way to let someone know how much you love them…and not just for Valentine’s!
