This beaded chocolate collection is also available as an online class. So, if you are new to Peyote stitch, you may find it beneficial to take the class. That gives you video demonstrations of the basic techniques, alongside these written instructions. If that sounds good, you can find the class at this link.

If you prefer, you can also purchase this pattern from my Etsy store.

Materials

You simply need size 11 seed beads to make your beaded chocolate collection. In the PDF tutorial, I have given you the exact colours that I used. You will also see that I used a range of different brands. So, these chocolates will work with any basic seed bead.

If you are hoping to make realistic-looking chocolates, then I do not recommend using delicas. Although the delica beads will be great with these techniques, they are going to give you a less rounded shape, so will look less realistic.

You also need your favourite beading thread.

My chocolates are all self-supporting. But if you feel yours are a little loose, you can add some stuffing to give them the support they need.

Experience and Techniques

You will be working entirely in Peyote stitch. This collection is a great way to learn a huge number of different techniques for shaping Peyote stitch. So, it is suitable for any level of experience.

The written instructions assume you already have good knowledge of Peyote stitch basics. And, because this is also available as an online class, I will not be able to provide additional help with this tutorial. If you feel like you may need extra help, then you should just enrol on the class.

About the beaded chocolate collection tutorial

This PDF tutorial gives you 45 pages of written instructions, accompanied by some photos and diagrams. You should be good at following written instructions, though.

Your instructions show you how to make twelve beaded chocolates, with a total of ten different designs. You will be using a vast range of shaping techniques within Peyote stitch.

You might recognise the inspiration behind this collection of chocolates. If you don’t, it really doesn’t matter. This project is also a great way to develop your basic Peyote skills.

And, you may want to display your chocolates in my beaded candy dish, as you see in the gallery photo. So, the tutorial also tells you where you can find that project.

Each chocolate is life-size (about 2″ in length) and it will take a couple of hours to make each one. So, this is a great project for making in stages. Maybe you don’t even make all the chocolates – just your favourites! You have the choice of all twelve of the flavours that currently feature in the original chocolate box.
