This Paisley Duo flower pattern gives you a really versatile motif. I have used these to make jewellery and even a beaded box. So, let me tell you more about the project.

Materials

To make your Paisley Duo flower, you will need the following beads:

  • Paisley Duo beads. Or, you can use ZoliDuo beads if you prefer.
  • Crescent beads
  • A 14mm Rivoli
  • Size 11 Delicas
  • Size 15 seed beads
  • 4mm pearls. Or, you can substitute these with crystals or firepolish
  • Your choice of beading thread

I chose to use Fireline thread. You will want something that is strong, easy to use, and gives you good tension. So, you can go with my recommendation, or choose your own for this project.

This is a great project for using up odds and ends of beads. You don’t need many in each bead type. Plus, you can try some interesting things like mixing up the colours within one type of bead. If you look closely at the photos in the gallery, you’ll see I actually used two or three colours of Crescent beads in a single flower. This was a great way to use up a few odd beads I had in different colours.

In the pattern, I have given you lots of colour options. So, you can choose your colourway, or create one of your own.

Experience and Techniques

This is an intermediate level project. It uses basic versions of the following techniques:

  • Modified Right Angle Weave
  • Peyote stitch
  • Square stitch

The pattern includes diagrams and photos to show you how the stitches work. For anyone who needs a little extra help, I have also put together a full demonstration of this project on my YouTube channel.

About the Paisley Duo Flower

I created my Paisley Duo flower whilst participating in an online beadalong on that theme. Shaped seed beads are just brilliant for creating floral motifs. This design combines some pretty common shapes, and not too many of them.

It is very versatile. I have discovered ways to add this to a beaded box and to create a reversible pendant. So, look out for those patterns on my website too. You can find all my Paisley Duo patterns at this link.
