Detailed Information for the earrings tutorial

This is the earrings tutorial for a pair of earrings that I designed with the kits I was sent for my first ever show on Jewellery Maker TV. This was the seed beads launch day.

I know that Jewellery Maker has always had an amazing collection of pearls and gemstones to offer their audience. So I wanted to explore ways in which seed beads could be used to enhance these products. As I was designing this pair of earrings, the idea of a kite came to mind.

About the project

I have written up this earrings tutorial so that anyone who has bought the kits from Jewellery Maker will have a few ideas for using them.

You will see that the earrings tutorial specifies the actual beads that I received from Jewellery Maker. But you can easily make substitutions if you need to.

You will want size 8 seed beads for this project. I combined these with freshwater cultured pearls and Keishi pearls. If you are having trouble finding the actual pearls that I used, then just take a note of the sizes that I used. As you are looking for alternatives, focus on the size. You could even use crystals or glass beads in place of the pearls if you want to go for a different look. You should be able to find some fabulous pearls or gemstones from Jewellery Maker though.

The earrings tutorial is suitable for improver to intermediate level. You are going to be working in Right Angle Weave. So if this is a technique with which you are not familiar, you can find a free tutorial here. The slightly uneven shape of the pearls means that the technique may feel a little trickier if you are just learning. You also need to make sure you keep great tension to pull the pearls into place.

The embellishment is simple and uses a combination of the seed beads and Keishi pearls. You can then add your favourite earring findings. Again, Jewellery Maker has a great range available, so do pop over there to check them out.
