I designed this Millefiori bracelet to teach to complete beginners. You will learn how to string beads, how to attach a clasp professionally. So, with these skills, you can make other jewellery. You will also learn daisy chain stitch. This is a simple technique in its own right. So, once you have learned it, you can use it to make bracelets and necklaces.

What Materials will I need?

The Millefiori bracelet takes its name from the Millefiori disc beads that feature. I have some of these in stock. You only need two beads per bracelet. So, you can choose your colours from my selection.

You will also need size 8 seed beads in two colours. These should pick out two colours in the Millefiori beads. If you have any questions about which colours will work, I am happy to offer advice. Lastly, I used some 4mm pearls – just four per bracelet. You could substitute these for other beads of about 4mm size.

So, this covers all the beads. You can then choose a clasp and some thread. Any beading thread will work well for this. I like to use a toggle clasp for this bracelet. Again, I have these materials in stock.

This means you can pop over to my beading supplies and choose what you need to go with your pattern. If you already have some of these supplies, then you can use what you have. This will be less expensive than buying a kit!

You will be using a beading needle (in fact, for this project, a fine sewing needle will work as the beads all have large-ish holes!) and a pair of small scissors. So, if you simply want to experiment with some beading, you don’t need to invest in any tools. You may also find a beading mat helpful, but I have some information about beading mats here.

What Experience Do I Need?

You don’t need any previous experience for this project. The instructions are very clear and have diagrams to help you.

More Ideas for the Millefiori Bracelet

If you look closely at the design, it is made from the strung Millefiori beads and sections of daisy chain stitch. You can create your own design variation by adding more, or fewer, Millefiori beads. The daisy chain sections will allow you to alter the length. As I mentioned above, you can also substitute the pearls for other types of bead.
