This French beaded Pansy pattern shows you how to make complete Pansy plants in three colours.

Materials

You will need the following materials:

  • Size 11 seed beads in your chosen pansy colours (about 14g per flower)
  • Size 11 seed beads in green for leave (about 20g per plant)
  • 24ga (0.5mm) wire in colours to match all your beads
  • Floral stem tape
  • Embroidery thread in green

You can buy all the materials for your French beaded Pansy pattern in my beading supplies department>>

Remember, if you are using a bead spinner (which I recommend you do!), then you will need about 10-20g of beads in each colour to make the spinner work well.

Experience and Techniques

I recommend this French beaded Pansy pattern for those who already have some experience of French beading. You are going to be using the basic technique, single loops and three row crossover.

Although, if you are just starting out, I do have videos to help with this project. You can find the basic technique here>>

I also demonstrate the single loop in another of those videos.

Both these videos are samples from my ebook, ‘Bead Flowers and Wedding Bouquets’. So, if you are just starting to learn French beading, you will love that book. It teaches you all the basic techniques on video. Plus you get twelve stunning flower and leaf designs and you learn how to make bouquets! Sound good? Then, grab your copy here>>

About the French beaded Pansy pattern

This is one of the patterns that I designed in my very early days of beading. I have finally got around to writing up and publishing the instructions!

The pattern will teach you how to make the basic Pansy flower, using simple colouring at first. I then show you how to add in the colourful flowers that you may often associate with Pansies.

You will learn how to create a complete plant. So, that includes leaves, buds and the plant structure.

As you can see, these plants are great for displaying in little plant pots.

My finished display is about 6″ high (base of leaves to top of flowers). I planted it in a pot with a 10cm (4″) diameter.
