This bracelet pattern uses peyote and herringbone to make individual sweets that are stitched together into a bracelet fastened with a beaded clasp.

Materials and Techniques

You just need size 11 seed beads for this bracelet.

You will be working in circular and tubular Peyote stitch, plus some basic Herringbone.

This pattern is suitable for anyone who enjoys those techniques.

About the Sweet Delights Bracelet Pattern

The inspiration came from a holiday in the USA where the Brachs peppermints (red and white) and spearmints (green and white) looked so appealing that I wanted to make them in beads.

I decided to combine them with polos to keep the mint theme (these are an English mint sweet –  circular with a hole in the centre and white in colour). But I also used the US variation – Lifesavers – that come in a variety of fruit flavours.

So I ended up with two versions of the bracelet!

The pattern provides detailed instructions with diagrams and photos. It is suitable for intermediate level and upwards, but if you are a keen beginner, there’s no reason why you won’t be able to manage this.

If you are thinking that this bracelet pattern looks a little familiar, it appeared in Digital Beading magazine, alongside an interview with me, back in 2012.

You will need size 11 seed beads for this project. I often use delicas when I am working in Peyote stitch. However, I found that the seed beads (sometimes called rocailles) gave a more rounded shape to my sweets. I felt this was more what I needed.

For this bracelet pattern, the brand you choose should not matter. But try to keep to the same brand for the whole project. Even though seed beads are given a standard size number, you will find that different brands vary slightly in size. You can find more information about choosing beading materials here.
