This Paisley petals tutti Frutti necklace takes its name from the design and the beads I used. So, read on to find out more…

Materials

You will need the following materials

  • Paisley Duo beads in three colours
  • Size 11 Miyuki seed beads in a contrasting colour
  • 4mm pearls to match your seed beads
  • Your choice of beading thread

You can find all these materials in my beading supplies department. If you want, you can use just one colour of Paisley Duo beads. You can also play around with the colouring.

I was making this necklace last summer. So, I was inspired by the bright days and plenty of sunshine. But if your natural colour preferences are more muted, go with that!

In my design, I created a very simple beaded clasp. However, you can use a shop bought clasp if you prefer. So, I have included instructions for attaching either variation.

If you do decide to use a shop-bought clasp, this blog may help you decide which is best to try.

Experience and Techniques

The Paisley Petals necklace is a really simple project. You are just going to be stringing beads!

So, this is a great way to start learning how to use Paisley Duo beads. (Or any other multi-holed beads). I have illustrated the project with lots of detailed diagrams. So, alongside the comprehensive instructions, this is an easy pattern.

You can make the necklace in an afternoon, as well.

About the Paisley Petals Tutti Frutti Necklace

I created this design for the Beadsmith Inspiration Squad. They had sent me some of the new Tutti Frutti colouring (and they are truly yummy!). This new colour coating has proved so popular that you can now find it on several different types of bead.

Anyway, I was fascinated by the Paisley Duo shaping. It reminded me of petals. So, I decided to explore that idea.

Rather than creating complete flowers, I’ve ended up with waves of petals. So, the colouring and these Paisley petal waves combined to give this necklace its name.
