This peanut bead flower pendant pattern features four pages of detailed instructions together with photos and diagrams. So, whatever your level, you should have no problem following the instructions!

Materials

This pendant is designed to be made with peanut beads. If you have never used these before, they are great fun. You can find out more about the beads at this blog.

As you will see in this project, they work really well for basic bead-weaving stitches. The peanut beads give a lovely textured finish to your work.

If you need to purchase some materials, then please check out the beading supplies department on here.

Techniques and Experience

The peanut bead flower uses circular Peyote stitch with basic increases. It is ideal for beginners or those wanting to improve their Peyote stitch skills or experiment with peanut (also known as Farfalle) beads.

I teach you how to stitch the individual flowers. Then I show you how to join them together as each new flower is worked.

Advanced beaders should be able to complete this project in under an hour. The Peanut bead flower pendant also makes an ideal companion to the Peyote Flower Bracelet Pattern.

About the Peanut Bead Flower Pendant

I came up with this design at the request of a student. We had been experimenting with circular Peyote stitch. As I recall, I had recently received a new pack of peanut beads and I was showing them in class. Then, one of my students asked if she could try them on her current project.

Now, she was working on the Hexagon bracelet to really learn circular Peyote stitch. So, we tried a few hexagons with the peanut beads. They gave such a lovely texture that I promised to go away and design something in a similar vein.

So, the peanut bead flower pendant is the result of that promise.

All my students love working on it. I often use colour to help people learn a new technique. This project is no exception. So, by mixing different colours within the pendant, I teach you the easiest way possible to learn circular peyote.
