Well, what can I say? – I love chocolate and I love beads. So, it was really only a matter of time before I found a way to combine the two! I invite you to enjoy these chocolate beaded beads!

When  I was writing my book, ‘Sweet Treats‘ I included a number of projects that required chocolate in some form. So, I brought you chocolate chip cookies, icing on donuts and a swiss roll. In every case I needed to find beads in the right colour for chocolate.

Fortunately delica beads come in a huge range of colours, so I soon found something that looked like chocolate. In fact, I found shades that ranged from dark chocolate, through milk to white chocolate. So I didn’t really need another excuse to create this chocolate beaded beads pattern.

Ideas behind the Chocolate Beaded Beads

The thing about real chocolates is not just the taste, but the fact that they all look so pretty. It’s not difficult to find designs that are imaginative and striking in their shape. Then, I found confectionary whose combination of different varieties of chocolate resulted in distinctive colouring.

This is what drove my experiments with beaded chocolates.

I had already become accustomed to creating different shapes, working in Peyote stitch. So, it was just a matter of finding a real chocolate design to suit the shape and working from there.

In this pattern, you will learn how to make chocolate beaded beads in two different shapes: a square and a rectangle.

If you are not a fan of wearing beaded chocolates, you can actually use a completely different colour scheme and you will end up with shaped beaded beads.

I strung my chocolate beaded beads onto a memory wire bracelet, in combination with some brown beads. This is a piece of jewellery that I really love wearing. So, I hope this pattern might find some new fans amongst the chocoholics out there too!
