This Easter egg cup beaded box is both a cute ornament and a great gift. The finished box is just over 3″ high and 2″ wide. So, I found I could fit five little mini eggs in mine.

Let me tell you more about how it is constructed…

Materials

I made my Easter egg cup beaded box with size 11 Delicas. You will just need 7-10g in each colour.

I decided to make a golden egg, but you could find a Delica shade that is more like the colour of a real egg. The pattern gives you the exact delica colour numbers that I used. But do feel free to choose your own.

I used three colours for the egg cup as that both looks pretty and helps with the design. So, by switching colours, you can understand how the Peyote shaping works.

In addition to the beads, you just need a beading thread that will give you good tension. I used Fireline, but you may prefer something different. You can check my beading supplies department for all these materials.

Experience and Techniques

This is an intermediate level project. You are going to be working in Peyote stitch. So, you should feel comfortable with the following techniques before you try this:

  • circular peyote
  • tubular peyote
  • peyote increasing and decreasing
  • stitch in the ditch technique

If that sounds daunting, it really isn’t! Don’t believe me? – then check out this set of free tutorials. They cover all these techniques. So, if you need to learn any of them, or brush up on your skills, you can.

About the Easter egg cup beaded box

I thought this would be a fun Easter themed project. As I said in the beginning, this is effectively a little gift box that will hold a few chocolate Easter eggs.

You can personalise the egg cup with the recipient’s name. Or maybe add an Easter greeting. I have included instructions for doing this in the pattern. If that sounds too complicated, then just stick with the striped pattern all the way around.

So, have some fun creating this special personal gifts for your loved ones this Easter (or any other time of year!).
