About the Plate of Donuts Kits

The plate of donuts project appeared in my book ‘Sweet Treats’. The project included Delica beads in a mixture of sizes. These included the size 10 beads that are not as widely available as the size 11. This project proved so popular that I decided to make it into a kit. So you can get started straightaway, without having to chase around for all the beads you need from different suppliers.

Important Information

The kit includes thread and around 50g of delica beads in sizes 15, 10 and 11. The icing colours are brown, pink and white, all with chocolate sprinkles. If you would like a different colour of icing, please include a note with your order. Alternatively, send me a separate email with your request.

This project is made using tubular and circular Peyote stitch. So, if you are familiar with those techniques, it is a project that you should be able to complete. The instructions for the donuts are only available in Sweet Treats book. You can buy a copy of that at a reduced price with this kit – just select that option from the menu above. The book also includes a good chapter on beading techniques.

If you feel like you might need a little extra help with circular and tubular Peyote stitch, then you can download a free tutorial here. The instructions with the kit include more detailed supplementary instructions for making the plate, which are not included in the book.

For those of you who enjoy a little bit of trivia, I am reliably informed that National Donut day is the first Friday in June, so get busy making your plate of donuts to celebrate. You can consume as many of these donuts as you like without consuming any calories at all! (Although I should probably add the health warning. This plate of donuts is not edible, so do keep it out of reach of anyone who might be tempted to try it…)
