This IBW Beaded Box kit is a materials only kit designed to accompany my IBW beaded box workshop. So, you will need to be enrolled on the workshop in order to get the instructions for this project. What do you get in your kit?
Your IBW beaded box kit contains all the beads you will need to complete the beaded box shown.
So, I have included the colouring that you see in the photos.
Now, this kit gives you size 10 Delicas. Although you can make the box using size 11, I feel it is better with the size 10. Plus, most people have size 11s in their stash. Whereas, this kit is ideal if you need new beads.
The kit doesn’t include thread. So, you will need to provide your own. My personal recommendation is Fireline. But if you have a different preference, that is fine. You just need something that will give you good tension.
If you also need to buy some thread, you can find some options at this link.
Experience and Techniques
You will be working in Peyote stitch to make this box. It is a simple design, so should be suitable for all levels.
In the course, I have included videos demonstrating all the techniques. So, even if you are still quite new to beading, this should give you the skills you need. You also get access to personal help from me if you need it.
About the IBW Beaded Box Kit
I designed this box for a beadalong for International Beading Week 2019. So, it seemed like a good idea to offer the option of buying a kit to accompany the course.
This design is a simple celebration of Beading Week. The idea is to bring beaders together and celebrate our love of beads. So, what better motif than those linked hands following the sequence of the colour wheel?
